Last night I had the pleasure of attending the book release party for cartoonist Lonnie Millsap. Great people, wonderful food and drinks, amazing band, and the fun of seeing Lonnie’s new book “I Asked For a Fork”. The party was held at the Copper Still, a wonderful bar, and yummy food was provided by Jaragua. The music was performed by Gene Micofsky who was absolutely wonderful. I have long been a fan of Lonnie’s work, it’s clever, light-hearted and funny. Bright drawings and quick witted one liners make for very funny cartoons. This is Lonnie’s fifth book, his other titles include: My Pickle Tastes Funny, I Stepped on a Duck, I Hate My Job and his first book My Washcloth Stinks. All are full of laughs and Lonnie’s wonderful humor. So if you see any of his books and enjoy smart and witty cartoons pick it up, you will not be disappointed. Lonnie was busy all evening signing books and prints but I will be interviewing him soon so check back! For more of his work go to lonniemillsap.com and be sure to follow & like lonnie's work on Facebook!

STEPHANIE'S BIO
I am an
avid fangirl of many things, a few are Joss Whedon projects, comic books,
sci-fi movies, music of all types, action movies and really bad monster
movies. My love of the nerdy has been firmly rooted in me since childhood
and playing Star Wars at my desk in elementary school. Currently, my favorite
comics are: The Wicked + the Divine, Gotham by Midnight and Letter 44. I have
worked everywhere from large corporations to small independent record stores,
where I gained an appreciation for all types of music. Some favorite
activities of mine are checking out new eateries, venues, art and my ongoing
attempts to play videogames. I’m not good, but I always have fun!
Let me know of any new thing geeky you are passionate about and I will check it
