After a 30 year hiatus "Mad" Max Rockastansky is finally back on the big screen! Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron star in the 4th installment of George Miller's action packed saga of the lone warrior wandering the post apocalyptic wasteland in search of hope and redemption.

In this thrilling installment we find Max still wandering the Wasteland and still haunted by the horrific visions and nightmares of his past when he encounters Imperator Furiosa, A battle scared warrior looking for her own redmeption as she defies the leader of Wasteland Immortal Joe when she takes his most prized possessions and flees.

Max and Furiosa band together to overcome Immortal Joe and his army in a deadly race for survival across the desert wasteland in search of a save haven for Immortal Joe's prized possessions and a search for purpose and redemption. Fury Road is an action packed thrill ride from opening frame to the end credits that breathes new life into George Miller's post-apocalyptic franchise that reminds us that blockbusters have the potential to not only be artistic, but radically visionary as well which is something that I feel has been missing in cinema today.

The over the top stunts, action sequences and eccentric characters will leave the audience craving more and quite saddended when the odometer hits 0 and the final credits roll but will be throughly entertained in between because what happens in between is enough action and suspense to last until the next time we see Mad Max on the big screen in his next adventure.

STEELER JACKSON AT THE MOVIES: The Avengers 2: aGE OF ULTRON EDITION

They say in life that the sequel is never better than the original but in movies there are rare exceptions to that rule in all genres of movies whether it's action, comedy or drama and The Avengers 2: Age Of Ultron sets out to continue to be the exception to the rule.

Now while I don't fancy myself as a comic book aficionado or "geek". I do believe in the neverending tale of good vs. evil and I do believe in heroes and the fight to be heroic and do heroic things when faced with adversity so while I don't particularly follow the comics of these heroes and their stories I easily indentify with them through these fantastic movies.

This time the massive conglomerate of heroes once again reassemble to battle the mysterious and sinister Ultron who is hell bent on destroying The Avengers to pave the way for a new world and through nefarious tactics push The Avengers to their limits not just physically but mentally.

There are quite a few additions to the cast and plot this go around as new characters are introduced into the battle of good vs. evil but the movie is lifted up once again by the performances of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Chris Hemsworth. Director Joss Whedon once again has brought these larger than life heroes back to the big screen to deliver the next chapter of the battle between S.H.I.E.L.D. and their many enemies from this world and not of this world and for two and a half hours it takes you on the wildest ride you will have at the movies this summer.

Filled with exciting action and adventure sequences and lots of humor, The Avengers 2 delivers fantastic fun from start to finish and will leave you on the edge of your seat and coming back for more.

The Fight of The Century.........HAS FINALLY ARRIVED!!!

In a few short hours from now Floyd "Money" Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will finally clash in a battle that will finally prove who is the best pound for pound fighter of this generation. Many fight fans feel this fight is happening 5 years too late and it will not be the pure boxing classic it should be because of the age of both fighters while many also feel that this fight is nothing more than Boxing's last big payday and moment in the sun before it vanishes into obscurity buried in the rubble of more popular sports like Football, Basketball, Baseball and Mixed Martial Arts.

For Floyd Mayweather it is about history as he inches closer and closer to perfection as he stares down the barrel of an undefeated career which hasn't been achieved since the late great Rocky Marciano. However, For Manny Pacquiao it is about vindication as he looks to beat the one man that's eluded him his entire career and capping his career with the ultimate victory as he looks to become the 1 in 47-1.

Both men have sat at the top of the mountain for the last 15+ years and have shared numerous championships and accolades but tonight only one will stay and wear the crown of Boxing's best pound for pound fighter.

The ultimate question tonight is not just who walks out of the ring with the victory but will these two men and ring warriors inspire a new generation of athlete to follow in their footsteps for tonight ultimately represents a chance that this clash of the titans can breathe new life into the sport of Boxing and bring forth a new generation of boxers who are not only gifted in the ring but are entertaining showmen as well.

If the sport of Boxing is to survive beyond tonight it sorely needs a new generation of fighters to walk in the footsteps of these two legendary fighters and blaze a new trail for Boxing's future going forward.

Is tonight the night that Boxing sets forth a new future that will see fighters emerge to the same level of greatness as the two legends in this Fight Of The Century or will this be Boxing's swan song before vanishing into the night never to return to nights like this where the anticipation is off the charts?

Only time will tell.

steeler jackson at the movies: furious 7 edition

Today I saw Furious 7 and there's so many thoughts that I have about it and so many things I wanna say about it..

Firstly, It may not be everyone's cup of tea but this installment of the "Fast" franchise stirs many emotions especially following the death of Paul Walker and while his death is still so very fresh in the minds of his family, friends and fans alike this installment pays such a wonderful tribute to him and the character of Brian O' Conner.

While they have never won Academy Awards for their roles in movies, Paul Walker and Vin Diesel were in my eyes an updated version of Paul Newman and Robert Redford in the installments of the "Fast" franchise as they saved the day while getting the girl and looking cool doing it. They were the embodiment of cool action dynamic duos as they transformed a franchise that started out about street racing and stylish cars into a franchise about honor, family, friendship and how far a person would or should go to protect it.

Secondly, If you are a fan of this franchise you definitely have to watch every installment to appreciate the hidden gems in the installment that came before it and this one has alot of fantastic callbacks to the original movie with some cameos from characters from the first movie which are a nice touch.

Furious 7 once again blends comedy, drama and intense action together into a perfect mixture that not only fans of the "Fast" franchise can appreciate but any fan of action, comedy and drama movies can sit and appreciate. Granted, A few of the movies action sequences are very improbable but never to the point where it ruined my overall enjoyment of the movie and it's story.

Lastly, When I saw the original 14 years ago I did look down the road to see 6 successful sequels in it's future but it's been an action packed, suspenseful and thrilling 14 year ride and even though the pilot is no longer with us I'm staying on board until the plane lands once and for all.

So if you are a fan of the "Fast" franchise or you just wanna have a fun time at the movies this is a flick I would highly recommend.
